Hey, I had a bunch of friends that were Sport and Recreation Management majors at Temple. (I was a Tourism & Hospitality Management major but our programs were really similar) As far as jobs out of Sport Management... Some of the directions that my friends went in were: Sports Agent/Scout, Facilities Management (stadium work, sales, event operations, and etc), Sports Marketing, Collegiate level sports work, and etc. There's a lot of different outlets with Sport and Rec Management.

I’m thinking about changing my major from advertising research to sports management.
really the only things stopping me are
1. having to take all new pre-reqs and changing my major is gonna be a process and
2. Idk how easy it will be to get a job right out of college with a sports management degree… right now it seems like advertising research is the better option with that.
I don’t think I’ll double major because it’s a huge workload and minoring doesn’t really seem worth it. advertising research with a minor in sports management? uhhh naaah
I know you’re supposed to “do what you love” but I wanna make mad money and I want to make a practical decision.

You guys talked about majoring in something involving sports in college. What kinds of majors are out there? I'd love to do the same.
well neither of us are at the moment, but we’re both looking into it! personally, I don’t really know much about sports-related majors just because it wasn’t something I was looking for during the college process, all I know is that my school has a sports management program (which I’m really looking into). I’ve also heard of sports journalism, too.

what program do you use to make the text photos?
kate uses photoshop and I use seashore, an open-source image-editing program for macs.

just to reiterate what kate/I said yesterday:
- kate and I are huge hockey fans, and so are a lot of our friends/people who follow us on tumblr. when we first started this blog, we promoted it to our followers so that’s who follows us andx that’s why we get a lot of hockey submissions.
- IT IS THE FUDGING STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS OKAY. ALL I THINK ABOUT IS HOCKEY. like if you think we post a lot about hockey here, you should go view our personals. you’d get a lot more annoyed.
- if you want to see more of something from a different sport, submit it. but please PLEASE check to see if we haven’t posted something like it already. I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW MANY FUCKING SUBMISSIONS WE GET ABOUT RONALDO. AND THEY ARE ALL THE SAME. I just can’t.
- we ARE selective about what we post because some of them aren’t even considered problems.

All you guys mainly talk about is hockey. I think if you're going to blog about hockey so much, you should take "sports" out of your URL and put "hockey" in there. I'm a hockey fan myself, but I would think if I wasn't a hockey fan following this, I'd be annoyed by it. Just an opinion.
Again, mainly the submissions are hockey related. If you want to see more posts about soccer, basketball, football, and baseball, please feel free to submit some. BUT DON’T TELL US THAT ALL WE BLOG ABOUT IS HOCKEY. That is all we get. And plus, hockey is in playoffs mode and a lot of people are excited about it. We aren’t neglecting any sports. We just keep getting submissions we have already posted for other sports.
